INDIAN SQUASH CIRCUIT CONTINUES TO GROW

The JSW Indian Squash Circuit was incepted in 2014 with the primary objectives of:
• Supporting existing Indian professional players to gain valuable ranking points in their backyard without having to incur large spends on travelling.
• Support aspiring Indian professionals with a framework of local PSA tournaments allowing them to learn and imbibe nuances of the professional game : essentially a learning ground to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
• Showcasing the sport at a more meaningful scale in India ,attracting sponsors for the Circuit and the many talented, hard working players that exist. Using the All Glass Court in iconic locations to enhance the profile of the sport and the spectator experience.
• Raising the awareness of the sport by the professional delivery of these events to international standards of excellence.
This brainchild of Ritwik Bhattacharya, the man who put India on the PSA map, has delivered some excellent results thus far with a large number of Indian players improving their rankings significantly besides drawing many juniors from all over the country to view world class squash at close quarters.
"We are pleased to be back again at the CCI for a PSA WORLD TOUR EVENT in 2019 which I’m sure will keep giving maximum exposure and valuable world ranking points to our Indian PSA Players. A huge thank you to our sponsors JSW, CCI as well as all our partners SRFI, WSF, GoSportz, Radio One, Raw Pressery who have made this Tournament possible.” says Ritwik - PSA Representative Asia & Promoter - Indian Squash Circuit
Adds Tournament Promoter Raj Arora of Ivy Sports: "In line with our vision to take Squash to a more meaningful scale, this year the JSW Indian Squash Circuit has raised the bar with a USD 77,800 event - The CCI INTERNATIONAL attracting top flight competition . The idea of World Class squash at this historic Cricket ground is quite a treat. We are excited about the competitive field for this event."
We will also see the largest event of the circuit in three years : a USD 77,800 Men's event in the All Glass Court at the Brabourne Stadium. We are excited and expect to generate more interest for our sport besides help our Indian players maximise their opportunities.
“The endeavour is to get Indian professionals and aspiring professionals get a certain level of competition and gain valuable ranking points. You can train as much as you want but need that competition to be able to evaluate your progress. We are delighted to support the circuit and pleased with the results it continues to deliver." says Mustafa Ghouse, CEO, Jindal Sports

Acknowledging the stellar work done by the ISC, Professional Sports Association (PSA) Chief Executive Alex Gough said, "The Indian Circuit has been integral in growing professional squash in the region and we are pleased to see the tournament commit to further growth in 2019 with a record prize purse up for grabs. Some of the world's leading players - such as Indian No.1 and current World No.12 Saurav Ghosal - will feature in Mumbai and we're looking forward to an exciting week of action.”
